Gemma James
Head of Biodiversity and Nature
Gemma leads Chronos’ Biodiversity and Nature team, managing programmes with both investors and companies across various sectors. She has 15 years experience developing strategies, undertaking research, conducting stakeholder engagement and managing coalitions. Gemma has worked across a spectrum of nature related topics including biodiversity, water, deforestation, plastics and the circular economy. Prior to Chronos, Gemma spent several years at the Principles for Responsible Investment and the International Council on Mining and Metals. She holds an MA in Environment, Policy and Globalisation from King’s College London.

Dr Rebecca Drury
Manager, Biodiversity and Nature
Rebecca is a specialist in environmental governance, rights-based nature stewardship, and sustainable use, with 20 years’ experience advancing international conservation and sustainability goals. Rebecca leads projects and multi stakeholder initiatives on the nexus between nature and human rights in collaboration with civil society, development banks, investors and governments. She brings extensive experience of capacity building, stakeholder engagement, strategy development, and project management. As a member of the UK Government's Illegal Wildlife Trade Advisory Group, she also contributes to shaping policy and action at the highest levels. Combining a background in natural and social sciences, Rebecca holds an MSc in Anthropology, Environment and Development and Ph.D. in Anthropology from University College London.

Laura Fox
Manager, Agriculture and Biodiversity
Laura supports the design, development and execution of Chronos’ work in agriculture, biodiversity, deforestation, and nature-based programmes. She has over 20 years’ experience working on biodiversity within corporate agricultural supply chains, and agriculture within international conservation programmes - including REDD+ programmes and landscape scale multi-stakeholder collaborations. She has spent the last five years working with investors, corporates and civil society on business risks and opportunities related to biodiversity and nature. She also provided additional research support to Tony Juniper on his book Just Earth. She holds an MSc in Environment and Development from the University of East Anglia.

Tanya Cox
Manager, Biodiversity and Nature
Tanya joined Chronos to lead on projects relating to the ocean, water and pollution. She has over 20 years’ experience in ocean science, marine conservation and international, marine environmental policy. Over her career, Tanya has specialised in the strategic development and management of marine conservation initiatives focused on habitats, species and the impacts of pollution on marine biodiversity. She has worked in multiple countries and holds strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including corporates, industry, standards bodies, investors and policymakers. She has expert knowledge of plastic and microplastic pollution and helped to design and implement effective international coalitions with civil society, businesses and community stakeholders to support effective national and global plastic policy development. Tanya holds a Master of Oceanography degree from the University of Southampton.
